Background:
The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), under OneCGIAR’s Plant Health Initiative, is conducting an impact evaluation of Push-Pull Technology (PPT) adoption among maize producers in Uganda to assess impacts on productivity and livelihoods.
Scope of Work:
– Translate and program the PPT Monitoring and Adoption Survey into a CAPI platform.
– Support questionnaire finalization following pre-tests.
– Obtain permits and recruit qualified field staff.
– Conduct pilot testing and prepare validation report.
– Lead training of enumerators in collaboration with IFPRI.
– Manage data collection among 180 Lead Farmers and additional beneficiaries (around 1,000 regular farmers).
– Oversee data quality assurance and submit cleaned datasets and documentation.
– Prepare final fieldwork report summarizing coverage and lessons learned.
Deliverables:
– Translated survey instrument and updated CAPI files
– Training agenda and pilot test report
– Raw and cleaned datasets with codebook
– Final fieldwork and quality control reports
Timeline:
– Sampling and planning: May 2025
– Training and pilot: Early June 2025
– Data collection: June 2025
– Cleaning and reporting: July 2025
Required Qualifications:
– Demonstrated experience conducting rural household surveys in Uganda
– Familiarity with SurveyCTO, Survey Solutions, or Kobo
– Capacity to manage local enumerators
– Background in impact evaluations or randomized trials (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
– Agricultural economics, nutrition, or food security experience
– Proficiency in local languages in Eastern Uganda
