Under the direct supervision of the Resident Representative of UNDP, UNFPA and UNICEF, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks: • Implement and update the Joint Office’s resource mobilization strategy, identifying funding and partnerships opportunities with national and international stakeholders. • Draft programmatic and management reports in close coordination with responsible units within the Joint Office. • Draft funding proposals, investment cases and impact reports for donors and institutional partners. • Develop monitoring and evaluation mechanisms for resource mobilization and partnership activities. • Participate in strategic meetings with government institutions, the private sector, and civil society organizations to promote effective collaborations. • Conduct research and analysis on funding trends and best practices in resource mobilization. • Support the analysis and interpretation of the donor and partner environment relevant to JO activities and identifying opportunities for JO assistance and intervention. Keeping abreast of new policy developments and strategies analysing policy papers, donor strategy documents, national plans, development frameworks and funding opportunities, and preparing briefs and inputs for partner and donor dialogue. • Assist advocacy efforts of the JO by preparing relevant documentation, i.e. project summaries, conference papers, speeches, donor profiles, and participating in public information events and collaborating/coordinating efforts closely on such related fields as communication, media outreach and advocacy. • Support the development of communications materials (e.g. press releases, public statements, speeches, tweets and other posts on social media) and reports in English through engagement with individuals, groups, organizations and institutions whose support is essential to the achievement of advocacy and program objectives. • Assist the Regional Offices and HQ in identifying and obtaining feature stories and other material in English to facilitate global/regional advocacy and fund-raising activities. • Organize donor missions to programs to showcase lasting results achieved thanks to UNDP, UNFPA and UNICEF in Cabo Verde.

• Previous experience in resource mobilization, partnership development, report writing or project management is a must. • Knowledge of the UN system and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (Portuguese and/or French is a great asset). • Ability to work independently and in a team, with a strong results-oriented approach. • Proficiency in digital tools for project management and communication. • Good experience in communication, negotiation and teamwork skills. • Experience with donors, drafting, editing and proof-reading concept notes, strategies and projects documents. • Skills in reporting are very important.
