The livelihood and food security Technical Assistant will support NRC’s Collaboration Across Societies for Peace, Inclusion and Resilience project, as well as other livelihoods projects as needed. He/she will work under the direct supervision of Livelihoods & Food Security (LFS) Officer. The Livelihoods and Food Security Technical Assistant is expected to spend approximately 90% of their time in the field.
Generic responsibilities
Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
Assist with the implementation of the support function portfolio according to plan of action
Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
Ensure proper filing of documents
Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function
Development of holistic and needs based programmers, including cash-based interventions and marked based programs
Specific responsibilities
Conduct needs assessments, focus group discussions, community meetings, and other community mobilization activities
In collaboration with other team members, conduct door-to-door visits to potential beneficiary household sites and correctly fill in project related technical/social forms and questionnaires.
Explain the project methodology, beneficiary selection criteria, scope of works, to the beneficiary
Supervise and monitor data collection in the field, works carried out directly by the staff and/or by Daily/Incentive labor
Supervise the daily implementation of activities on different sites.
Responding to any project beneficiary information requests and complaints regarding social aspects of implementation directed by Project Officer/Coordinator and M&E unit
Report on performance and social aspects daily activities of Incentive labor and complete documentation regarding technical performance
Participate in field level coordination with community stakeholders in areas of project implementation as directed by LFS Officer/Coordinator
Conduct household level M&E activities specifically related to the social aspects of project implementation, including baseline/endline surveys, registration of beneficiaries, etc.
Participate in the preparation and distribution of MoUs, agreements, and hand over documents for beneficiaries and authorities.
Perform any other task relevant to the position as requested by the Project Officer and/or the Project Coordinator.
In close coordination with the M&E team, ensure all monitoring and evaluating activities are carried out on time, and lessons learned are shared and capitalized on.
Professional competencies
Generic professional competencies:
Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role in a humanitarian/recovery context with i-NGOs or private sector
1 to 2 years of experience in the agriculture sector.
Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
Fluency in Arabic
Understanding of English language.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
Context/ Specific skills, knowledge, and experience:
Bachelor’s degree from economy, business Administration, agriculture.
Experience of conducting soft skills training
Experience of working on the implementation of agricultural projects.
Experience in community engagement.
Experience in overseeing data collection, community mobilization activities and awareness campaign.
