Area of ​​activity

As part of the international climate protection initiative of the German Federal Government, the Climate Diplomacy Action Programs (CDAP) of the GIZ supports the AA in the implementation of German climate foreign policy, especially in the climate -dialogues with its partner countries from the G20 and V20 countries.In addition, CDAP accompanies Germany’s international climate policy cooperation and supports the establishment and design of cooperation with partner governments, international organizations and initiatives.We are looking for a person who supports the project in his support role in coordinating the GIZ company-wide activities before, during and after the Conference of the UN Convention on Klimar framework (UNFCCC Cop30).

Your tasks

Under the guidance of their supervisors, they perceive the following tasks as part of the internship:

Support of the GIZ internal task force to prepare, implement and follow the COP30 of the Climate Framework Convention, including the preparation of official GIZ Side Events and other Side Events with GIZ participation
Support in the follow -up of the climate interior negotiations (SB62)
Support in processing ad hoc inquiries from the AA in preparation for the COP30
Support in the preparation and follow-up of Side Events of the AA as part of the COP30
Support (remote) in the coordination of the GIZ OBSERDEDELEGATION, in particular the coordinator (preparation and during the conference), in terms of content and logistical
Support in the coordination and organization of reporting
Creation of social media contributions for GIZ channels for GIZ engagement on the COP30
Preparation of information about the COP30 for the GIZ intranet and internal knowledge management

Your profile

Completed BA studies (with natural, social or social science or developmental policy orientation) or at the end of the master’s degree or graduation within the past six months;Preferred MSC – Studium Climate Change, Development & Policy or similar conclusion / comparable specialization
Expertise in the subject area of ​​climate change (adaptation, reduction, financing) and good understanding of the current discussions in the context of the UN climate negotiations and relevant political agendas;Knowledge of the concepts and strategies for sustainable development (e.g. the Agenda 2030)
First experiences in the field of development cooperation or climate policy, e.g.B. work as part of internships or studies;Ideally initial experience in developing or emerging countries
Initial experiences in the areas of public relations, communication and event management, social media experiences are an advantage
Joy to prepare complicated content in an understandable form and creativity in the graphic preparation of numbers and information
Very good oral and written German and English skills (at least B2)
Pronounced initiative, analytical and interdisciplinary thinking, open -mindedness and curiosity for new topics and challenges
Very good self-organization, high flexibility, pronounced communication and teamwork
