CONTEXT:
The United Nations World Food Program (PMA) is the largest humanitarian organization to fight the world hunger.In Colombia, the support that PMA gives to the National Government respond to the Sustainable Development Goals SDG 2 and SDG 17 while contributing to other objectives, providing humanitarian assistance and support for the construction of peace and sustainable development.
Based on the lessons learned in Colombia, the strategic approach of the PMA covers the humanitarian, recovery, development and consolidation of peace.The PMA will maintain its ability to respond to the relief needs requested by the Government.He will work with ethnic groups and the people most affected by the conflict, women victims of violence and communities that have been “left behind.”
The PMA in Colombia has an extensive presence and recognition in the field (it currently has operational capacity in more than 20 of the 32 departments), not only by the humanitarian community but also, by the communities and beneficiary populations and, a capacity and expertise developed through the response to multiple types of emergency in recent years.
Colombia lives a complex political, economic and social situation that directly impacts food and nutritional security of an important part of its population.According to the latest evaluation of the PMA, around 15.5 million people in the country (30% of the population) suffer from food insecurity, of which 2.1 million suffer from a serious food insecurity.Seven internal armed conflicts are one of the main drivers of this food insecurity, and continue to impact directly in terms of displacement, confinement and loss of livelihoods.Holdly linked to the continuity of conflict and violence, there is the propagation of illicit economies associated mainly with cocaine production and traffic.
Chocó is a territory historically impacted by the situations mentioned, so processes that allow income generation, the consolidation of productive processes and the strengthening of the governance and governance of communities and local governments are necessary.
Purpose of the position:
Guarantee the efficient operation of the mechanical equipment of the plant, implementing preventive and corrective maintenance strategies, optimizing productive processes and ensuring the operational availability of the machinery according to the organization’s guidelines.

Main responsibilities (indicative and non -exhaustive list):
Design and implement preventive and corrective maintenance strategies for plant machinery.
Coordinate the acquisition of inputs, tools and spare parts necessary to guarantee the operation of mechanical equipment.
Supervise the operation of mechanical systems, detecting failures and proposing improvements in technical infrastructure.
Manage the calibration and adjustment of production equipment to ensure efficiency and quality.
Ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices (BPM) and industrial safety standards.
Train operational personnel in the proper use and maintenance of machinery.
Make technical reports and management reports on the state of the equipment and interventions carried out.
Collaborate in the improvement of productive processes by optimizing the mechanical performance of the plant.
Ensure the sustainability and energy efficiency of the mechanical systems implemented.
Participate in the definition and execution of technological improvement projects for the plant.
Perform documentation of all the processes developed from the area and the operated machinery.
Minimal qualifications and experience:
Formación:Completion of the Secondary Education cycle.Desirable, professional title in mechanical or related engineering.
Experience:
Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in operation, maintenance and operation of industrial equipment.
Experience in failure analysis, diagnosis of mechanical problems and process optimization.
Knowledge and application of industrial safety standards and BPM.
Knowledge of the territory of Chocó, with preference of Bethlehem of Bajirá and of the social and productive dynamics of the territory.
Management of specialized maintenance and software management tools.
Desirable experience in the agroindustrial sector and food production.
Skills and knowledge:
Ability to analyze and solve complex mechanical problems.
Identify and solve operational problems.
Ability to communicate in complex issues clearly and concisely.
Ability to perform medium complexity work, maintain the confidentiality of information.
Ability to generate management reports for accountability and adequate decision making.

Knowledge in engineering project management.
Languages:
Fluidity in Spanish and desirable intermediate knowledge of English.
