Halfond maintenance for climate protection, biodiversity and development are at the center of the work of the Sector Preservation (SV) International Forest Policy.We advise the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) on topics of international forest policy and forest financing.As a diverse team with a wide range of experience, we bring in implementation experiences and innovations in international partnerships, initiatives and financing mechanisms.We also support the BMZ within the GNU (Germany, Norway, UK) partnership, in fulfilling the global biodiversity framework and in the development and public relations work.To support our team, we offer an internship that offers exciting insights around the topic of “international forest politics in development cooperation”.
Your tasks
As part of the internship, they practice the following tasks:
You work in day -to -day business and get to know the way of working of the sector forecast and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).
You will have the opportunity to get to know the various subject areas of the sector project and to get involved in some topics over a longer period of time.
In particular, you will make an active contribution to knowledge management.This includes u.Support in research on the rights of indigenous peoples in the forest area and the preparation in the creation of a monthly newsletter (in English).
If necessary, support the team in planning, implementing and documenting events.
They also provide support in the creation of specialist publications, presentations and technical statements on current subject complexes in international forest politics.
Your profile
Studies, preferably in the field of forestry, environmental sciences, management of natural resources, environmental economics or political science, or in related courses
Very good PC knowledge (especially Microsoft Office Applications)
Very good language skills in German and English.Language skills in French and/or Spanish an advantage
Experience in the organization of events
Initial experience abroad in the field of development cooperation desirable
Good self-organization, pro-active action, resilience, teamwork and intercultural competence
