How can you make a difference?
Providing specialized technical assistance to coordinate, form and supervise the Technology of Integral Health and Nutrition Brigade with the objective of providing nutritional care through nutritional evaluation, supplementation and counseling and identifying and timely treat acute malnutrition to save lives of girls/boys under 5 years and women;as well as forming agents of prioritized municipalities of Chiquimula.
Workplace:The main headquarters is the department ofSuchitepéquez, it will be necessary to travel to the communities and municipalities that are needed.
For the due delivery of the products, the consultants live in the municipalities/Department of Suchitepéquez.80% of the time is community work in the most distant and vulnerable communities.
Tasks to be performed:
Assign roles to your work/brigade team
Supervise the quality of care provided
In coordination with the brigade team in your charge (3 nursing assistants):
Planning and schedule of monthly activities.
Coordinate with local authorities and personnel of the MSPAS, for compliance with activities.
Coordinate and request supplies to Driss de Mspas for fulfilling activities.
Present strategy in the Municipal Commission of Food and Nutrition Security, Health District and Municipal Development Council corresponding, in conjunction with the Nutritionist of the DRISS.
Coordinate actions of the Nutrition and Health Brigade under your charge.
Supervise the actions of the Brigade in your charge.
Ensure compliance with the tasks of the members of the Nutrition and Health Brigade under their charge.
Perform nutritional evaluation of girls/boys under 5 years, adolescents women, pregnant women and in the breastfeeding period of prioritized communities.
Provide micronutrient supplementation if necessary and provide counseling in the relevant issues of nutrition and health.
Review card and provide supplementation, deworming if necessary according to scheme and provide counseling to families about adequate food practices in young children, pregnant women and breastfeeding.
Provide counseling on adequate food practices for young girls/boys, adolescents women, pregnant women and in breastfeeding.
Provide treatment or refer if necessary, cases of acute malnutrition at the corresponding health service.
Be the direct contact with the person responsible for the Food and Nutritional Security Program of the MSPAS, of the assigned municipality.
Have a record of the activities carried out, in the corresponding formats.
Register actions in formats provided by the MSPAS.
Identify leaders/community leaders of prioritized communities.
Training of community leaders/leaders (agents of change) in themes for timely prevention and detection of cases of acute malnutrition and counseling with emphasis on breastfeeding, child food, hygiene, identification of acute malnutrition and danger signs.
Data entry to corresponding platform for reporting.
Discharge of databases and elaboration of consolidated data of the district under its charge.
Review of nutrition auxiliary reports from its brigade.

To qualify as defender of each child, you must meet the following requirements:
Education:
Bachelor of Nutrition (required)
Master in Food and Nutrition (Desirable)
Have the 20 -hour breastfeeding course (desirable; but if you don’t have it, you will have to do it before starting activities)
Experience:
Nutrition and Health Brigades (desirable) experience
Experience in nutritional evaluation in children under 5 years of age (indispensable)
Experience in food and nutritional education at the community level (desirable).
Emergency nutrition experience (desirable)

The final rate will follow the principle of the “best value for money”, that is, achieve the desired result with the lowest possible fees.Consultants will be asked to stipulate with all inclusive fees, including travel and per diem expenses as applied.
Late delivery clause: In case the consultant present delay in the delivery of stipulated products, which is due to causes outside UNICEF, will be penalized with 3% of the total cost of the contract per week a week completed in late backward, having as a maximum 24% of the total contract.
