Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit is hiring a intern in the global project Women’s Empowerment for Resilient Rural Areas (WE4R)

Area of ​​activity

The sustainable management of land resources is a central intersection of the three Rio conventions of the United Nations (UNCCD, CBD, UNFCCC).The global project “Strengthening women for resilient rural areas” aims along the “3 R” approach of feminist development policy aims to strengthen rights, resources and representation of women in rural spaces in the context of sustainable management of land resources.The project works with global and national partners to support women in the country who are particularly affected by degraded floors, loss of biodiversity and climate change.It cooperates with the secretariats of the Rio conventions, national ministries as well as local and regional civil society organizations.As part of the internship, you gain an insight into the work content and routines of an internationally recognized implementation institution of international cooperation.You will support our team professionally and in terms of content and also work on specific tasks independently under the guidance and support by a mentor.

Your tasks

As part of your internship, you have the following tasks:

Support of the team in the technical and organizational support of different project activities, including the support of financing and coordination of country measures in Kenya, Madagascar and Mali
Support and partly independent implementation of research, analyzes and technical assessments and processing of information for various target groups and formats
Support with the organization and documentation of workshops and events
Support in knowledge management and the public relations work of the project, including writing blog entries for the intranet and newsletter, updating information materials

Your profile

From the fourth semester you will study in a course with professional relevance, e.g. agricultural sciences, geography, international cooperation, environmental and climate policy or an adjacent specialization with references to land resource management and/or gender studies
They have overview knowledge with reference to rural development.Initial experiences or knowledge in the areas of land resource management, the Rio conventions (UNCCD, UNFCCC, CBD) or gender in rural development are desirable
They have a quick grasp and are able to present complex facts in easily understandable texts.Initial experiences in the field of communication and public relations are desirable
They are team -oriented and at the same time convince with an independent, structured way of working
Personally, they are characterized by flexibility, organizational competence and very good communicative skills
They have a very good written expression in French, English and German and are certainly in the processing of extensive texts and tables with the help of Microsoft Office Applications
