Created in 1951, IOM is an organization related to the United Nations and, as the main United Nations agency in the field of migration, it works in close collaboration with government, intergovernmental and non -governmental partners.The OIM’s mission is to promote human and orderly migration in the interest of all.For this, it offers services and provides advice to governments and migrants.

Context

Under the overall supervision of the OIM Guinea mission chief, and the program manager and under the direct supervision of the Counter-Trafficking and Protection Officer, the project assistant-Protection/MHPSS will support the implementation of the support project to the initiatives of socio-economic and well-being insertion to families and children in mobility in Guinea, a project that is to support GuineaIn the fight against exploitation, trafficking and irregular migration with which children are victims, while strengthening their protection.

It also aims to reduce risk factors by acting on the main axes of their development: individual, socio-economic, family, community and structural.The project is funded by the Directorate General for Development Cooperation of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (DGCS), through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS).

The project also provides for strategic support for the Guinean State, notably aimed at strengthening coordination between the actors concerned.This support will result in local initiatives in the areas hosting a large number of migrant children, in order to promote their rights and promote their development in an environment conducive to their personal development.

Under the overall supervision of the head of mission of Oim Guinea, and the program manager and under the direct supervision of the Counter-Trafficking and Protection Officer, the project assistant-Protection/MHPSS will have the tasks and responsibilities of:

Perform administrative, financial and supply tasks linked to project activities in accordance with the internal procedures of the organization.
Contribute to the implementation of project activities.
Support coordination with local authorities and partners involved in project activities.
Assist the process of identifying children benefiting from the project and needs analysis.
Assist the reintegration of beneficiary children.
Support the organization and implementation of mapping activities, workshops, creation of local committee and information sessions in connection with the project.
Support the mid-term and final assessment.
Contribute to the reporting of activities and the lessor.
Contribute to monitoring activities.
Support coordination and collaboration with the HCDH in the context of joint project activities.
Perform any other task that could be entrusted to him in the context of work.
Education

Hold a diploma in higher education in law, sociology, international relations, project management, community development or other related field of a recognized academic institution, and three (3) years of relevant experience in the field of protection, mental health and psychosocial support, reintegration and reintegration, child protection or professional experience in related fields or secondary school diploma with five years of relevant experience.

Experience

Documented professional experience
Minimum 3 years of experience successfully in similar jobs.
In -depth knowledge of logistics in general and in purchase procedures in particular.
In -depth knowledge of IT tools (Word, Excel, Power Point,)
Experience within or with United Nations and/ or NGO agencies, OSC, would be an asset.
Skills

Good understanding of the migratory theme and the migration context in the Republic of Guinea (migrant rights, child law, concept of vulnerability, protection and assistance, etc.);
Good control of ms-office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint);
Interpersonal listening and communication skills
Capacity for organization, management and analysis;
Knowledge of Microsoft Office’s tools;
Ability to undertake tasks in all autonomy;
Good editorial and communication capacity;
Very strong capacities for analysis, synthesis and classification of information;
Very good time to organize time and work planning;

Languages

For all candidates, the mastery of French is required (oral and written).
Having knowledge of English and one of the local languages ​​of Guinea would be an asset.
IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish.
