Norwegian Refugee Council is hiring a Technical Assistant Hostem and Food Security – Cali (Valle del Cauca) to

General responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with the policies, tools, manuals and guidelines of the NRC.
Support with the implementation of the delegated project portfolio according to the Action Plan
Implement procedures and activities interchangeably within the basic function or competence as delegated.
Responsible for the organization and execution of tasks in accordance with priorities and standards.
Develop and maintain knowledge of the work specialization area in which technical assistance and support are provided, in order to be more effective in supporting the team.
Initiative in solving everyday problems in accordance with agreed procedures, priorities and standards for the work area.
Prepare and develop reports of states required by management
Ensure the proper file of the documents
Promote and share ideas to improve technical assistance.

Specific responsibilities

Ensure the execution of the activities in your charge and in your intervention zone according to the quality parameters and the technical guidelines established by the basic competence.
Support and provide technical guidance and tools to attendees to carry out the execution of all areas on the ground as established in the Action Plan, using the defined methodologies and with the required quality level.
Actively participate in terrain evaluations (identification of needs, planning, execution and monitoring) to adapt food security and living security interventions to needs.
Support the processes of identification and targeting of beneficiaries and ensure that project activities are oriented to the most needy beneficiaries and the integration of gender and protection approaches.
Collect data and verification sources and support monitoring and evaluation systems.
Maintain and promote relations between NRC and local communities in the realization of the objectives of the projects.
Maintain and foster coordination and lines of communication and exchange of adequate information with partners and interested parties on the ground to avoid duplication and maximize synergies.
Provide updates, supplies and comments relevant to the officer/ technical officer/ coordinator of life necessary for the monitoring and improvement of the projects of life and food security.
Support content elaboration and implement/coordinate the formations to the beneficiary population in the field of activities of food and food security projects.
Support the application of the mechanisms established for community participation and accountability.
Any other task that is required for operational support led by the Line Manager or the designated supervisor

Profile:Technical studies or university student of the last semesters or recently graduated in economics, business administration, economic or rural development, agricultural or agroforestry engineering, engineering/environmental or related sciences.

General Professional Competencies:

Minimum work experience of one (1) year as a technical assistant in humanitarian aid contexts.
Knowledge and experience within the technical field and ideally a relevant professional qualification.
Previous work experience in complex and changing contexts
Verifiable experience related to the responsibilities of the position
Some knowledge in the English language.

Specific skills, knowledge and context experience:

Minimum professional experience of one (1) year in the implementation of food assistance projects and provision, promotion and/or protection of livelihoods.
Professional experience in work with government entities of the National/Territorial Order, United Nations System Agencies, Red Cross Movement or other humanitarian organizations in issues related to livelihoods and food security.
Knowledge Participatory methodologies based on the community for the execution of living projects.
Work skills in multicultural contexts, people from different countries, regions and territories, with Afro, peasant and indigenous communities
Experience in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Database Management and Management
