The City Resilience Global Programme is UN-Habitat’s technical partner for urban resilience—we help cities increase their resilience by diagnosing the state of their urban system, driving actions, sharing and building knowledge for policy making.

Context

The City Resilience Global Programme, implemented by UN-Habitat, works to strengthen urban resilience across the world. As part of our ongoing digital engagement and knowledge sharing efforts, we are updating our online presence to better showcase local action, tools, and key partners. The selected volunteer will work closely with the communications and digital content team to implement these web improvements. This assignment offers a unique opportunity to contribute to global resilience efforts by enhancing access to tools and information through a more dynamic and user-friendly platform.

Task Description

We are seeking a web development expert with proven experience in WordPress to support the City Resilience Global Programme (CRGP) in enhancing and updating its website: https://urbanresiliencehub.org/. The selected candidate will be responsible for: Designing and developing a dedicated webpage for a new territory, following the style and structure of the “Impact – Actions for Resilience” section. The design should be modern, interactive, and aligned with the latest pages created for Medellín and Tunis. Embedding the CRGP’s interactive resilience tool into the website. This task will likely involve the creation of a new, dedicated page to host the tool and ensure its full functionality within the site. Restructuring key sections of the website, including layout adjustments, updated section naming, and the integration of new categories. The objective is to create a more intuitive and accessible user experience, improve navigation, and increase visibility of projects, reports, and partner contributions. A preliminary site map and draft layout are already available but will need to be reviewed and refined. All changes must be implemented in WordPress through custom coding.
