Your position and responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Regional Director of Operations – West and Southern Africa, you will be responsible for setting up a reliable and relevant delegation system (with appropriate control mechanisms) for the ACF mission in Burkina Faso.

In this context, your role will be to:

• Ensure the updating and implementation of the country strategy, adapted to the country, the regional context, and respectful of ACF’s vision and mission

• Oversee the definition of ACF programs and projects on the mission with the aim of ensuring effective and efficient design, implementation, and evaluation

• Develop and improve relationships between the mission and representatives of donors, civil society, the private sector, government agencies and other organizations, recognizing diversity as an asset of the humanitarian community, so that ACF can maximize its impact on malnutrition and its prevention

• Manage the preparation, regular updating and implementation of the security plan in accordance with ACF standards and procedures

• Oversee the management and development of the mission’s human resources and create a shared vision, across all staff, of ACF’s values ​​and program objectives, as well as each person’s role in achieving them. Manage approximately 7-8 people directly and a total team of 150 to 300 people.

• Oversee and direct the appropriate mobilization, use and management of the mission’s financial and logistical resources, in accordance with ACF policies and donor requirements

• Be the main actor in the relationship between the field and headquarters, maintaining good working relations with headquarters by responding to requests for information, and by requesting headquarters expertise to optimize the implementation of the country strategy

Your profile

You hold a Master’s degree (Bac+5) in development project management, social action or humanitarian action, international relations or political science.

You have at least 6 years of experience in a Country Director position, in a complex security context, ideally with Action Against Hunger.

You have already successfully supervised multicultural technical teams and managed humanitarian and/or development operations in a similar context.

You are capable of leadership, adaptation and innovation, with a sense of diplomacy and of interacting with national authorities and donors.

You are fluent in French and English, both spoken and written.
