Duties and Responsibilities

UNRWA is a United Nations agency established by the General Assembly in 1949 and is mandated to provide assistance and protection to a population of some 5 million registered Palestine refugees. Its mission is to help Palestine refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, West Bank and the Gaza Strip to achieve their full potential in human development, pending a just solution to their plight. UNRWA services encompass education, health care, relief and social services, camp infrastructure and improvement, microfinance and emergency assistance. UNRWA is funded almost entirely by voluntary contributions. The Associate Data Analyst will support the Relief and Social Services Department, primarily the Registration Division, in strengthening data management, analysis, and visualization to improve service delivery to Palestine refugees. This support contributes to the Division’s mandate to maintain accurate refugee records and support identity management, eligibility determination, and access to services across UNRWA’s fields of operation. The incumbent will: • Develop procedures and scripts for restructuring registration records; • Review existing SQL queries for quality improvements; • Design and implementing record validation, reconciliation, and integrity maintenance procedures from error detection phase to error correction phase; • Analyze record inconsistencies and formulating recommendations based on findings; • Present data findings and business insights using statistical, analytical and visualization skills to generates insights from a range of data sources within the RRIS Modernization Project; • Track and reports on department initiatives and status of activities; • Provide support with technical writing and editing as required; • Produce and maintain dashboards and reports for stakeholders; • Identify operational issues and propose data-driven solutions; • Perform the necessary analysis on services provided to registered refugees; • Undertake other tasks, as requested.
Qualifications/special skills

University degree from an accredited educational institution in computer science, data analytics or a related discipline. 2 years of demonstrated experience in developing and designing a dataset, analysing and interpreting results using statistical tools and techniques, and writing data reports. Good knowledge of relational databases, SQL and statistics. Formal training in data analysis. Understanding of humanitarian and development contexts including prior programme or project management experience. Understanding of civil registration systems and processes.
Languages

Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic.
Additional Information

Remuneration will be set at 780 JOD per month (equal to G12).
