You will make an impact by:

Monitoring & Evaluation

· Leading mixed-methods data collection initiatives including focus group discussions, key informant interviews, surveys, most significant change stories, and participatory evaluation methods

· Supporting quantitative data collection, management, and analysis including survey design, data validation, and statistical reporting

· Maintaining program monitoring and evaluation systems including monthly output trackers, beneficiary trackers and Indicator Performance Tracking Table (IPTT)

· Using Kobo Toolbox and other platforms to collect data using mixed-methods approaches

· Designing and implementing mixed-methods research methodologies for baseline, midline, endline, and impact evaluations

· Providing accurate and verifiable beneficiary data and comprehensive insights to enable donor reporting

Research & Analysis

· Supporting research design and implementation for organisational and partnership research initiatives

· Conducting data analysis using mixed-methods approaches and appropriate analytical frameworks

· Contributing to new business development through MEAL inputs for proposal writing, including research frameworks and evaluation designs

· Collaborating with Burnet Institute on independent and joint research initiatives aligned with both organisations’ priorities

· Synthesizing findings from multiple data sources to inform program learning and strategic decision-making

Reporting & Communication

· Supporting periodic reporting to donors, partners, and senior management teams

· Developing compelling content for reports, including case studies, beneficiary stories, statistical summaries, and thematic analyses

· Contributing to proposal development by designing MEAL frameworks, evaluation budgets, and research components for funding applications

· Supporting knowledge management activities and facilitating evidence dissemination

Accountability & Learning

· Leading community feedback activities using participatory and culturally appropriate methodologies

· Planning and implementing Post Distribution Monitoring (PDM) activities

· Building capacity of program staff in mixed-methods MEAL tools and approaches

· Training field staff in mixed-methods data collection and participatory research approaches

· Organising and facilitating learning events including project reviews and research dissemination workshops

This role requires:

· Strong experience in mixed-methods research including research design, data collection, and analysis

· Competency in both quantitative and qualitative research methods including survey design, data management, statistical analysis, and qualitative inquiry

· Experience in supporting monitoring and evaluation activities in development, health, or humanitarian contexts

· Proven skills in participatory and mixed-methods research approaches and community engagement methodologies

· Experience with data analysis software (NVivo, Atlas.ti, SPSS, R, or similar platforms)

· Excellent oral and written English communication skills with demonstrated ability to translate complex findings into accessible narratives

· Strong skills in proposal writing and research design with experience contributing to funding applications

· Good skills and experience in using Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and data collection platforms like Kobo Toolbox

· Experience working with children and youth in research and programming contexts

· Understanding of research ethics and safeguarding principles in research with vulnerable populations

· Experience working in community participation and accountability activities

· Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities while maintaining quality standards

Desirable:

· Advanced degree in social sciences, public health, international development, or related field

· Experience working with international NGOs, research institutions, or academic organisations

· Previous experience in proposal development and donor reporting for major institutional donors

· Knowledge of Pacific Island contexts, cultures, and research environments

· Experience in mixed-methods research design and implementation

Employment Terms:

· Two (2) year contract with Three (3) month probationary period

· Full staff benefits including VNPF contributions, medical insurance, annual leave entitlements, severance pay (applicable after 12 months), and unused annual leave payout as per Employment Law

· Police clearance check required
