Organization Setting and Reporting The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities. UN-Habitat is the focal point for all urbanization and human settlement matters within the UN system. UN-Habitat works with partners to build inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable cities and communities. It also helps build the capacity of governments, local authorities, and communities to plan, manage, and govern urban areas effectively, including promoting participatory approaches and inclusive decision-making processes. Under the Durable Solutions program UN Habitat seeks to bridge humanitarian and development efforts by integrating displaced populations into urban and peri-urban areas through participatory planning, capacity development, and innovative solutions. UN-Habitat offers an internship opportunity to support its works in promoting sustainable urbanization and improving human settlements. This position is located within the Regional Office for Africa under the Kenya Country Programme, to support the EU funded Partnership for the Implementation of the New Urban Agenda (PINUA) project. Under the direct supervision of the Human Settlements Officer/ Project Manager for PINUA, the Intern will undertake the responsibilities as outlined below: Responsibilities • Support in the general administrative operations and coordinate as appropriate with other UN-Habitat staff and departments. • Scheduling project meetings schedule, in relation to the program and handling related correspondence. • Support project financial management and reporting by reviewing and consolidating field reports in areas of direct and indirect implementation. • Support in updating and monitoring of various trackers e.g., procurement, travel, recruitment and cash advance. • Support with travel logistics arrangements e.g., flight bookings, car hire and accommodation booking. • Support in the organization of meetings, training and conferences including liaison with participants, conducting site visits, and assisting with writing minutes. • Provide assistance in the clearance and approval of legal documents such as Agreements of Cooperation applicable in the implementation of the project activities. • Responsible for the project documentation process, to facilitate the development of the PINUA Knowledge Management Hub. • Support in the quality assurance of submitted reporting documents by Implementing Partners. • With the support of the ICTS office, assist in leveraging project automation, managing share drive information, electronic reporting templates, setting-up on new user accounts, laptop assignment and troubleshooting of system and network problems. • Maintain orderly records and files on on-going projects and project/programme
