Programme Monitoring Associate
Organizational Setting and Work Relationships
The Programme Monitoring Associate may be based at HQ, in the field, or in a regional bureau, reporting to and receiving guidance from more senior programme staff within the operation, bureau, or division. Indirect guidance may also come from other sections and units relevant to country programme(s) or global quality assurance standards. The incumbent’s work is guided by UNHCR’s Manual, corporate and regional strategic priorities, operation plans, and other relevant institutional rules and regulations.
The Programme Monitoring Associate supports and guides the monitoring of protection and solutions strategies and coordinates with other sections/units to ensure harmonized monitoring approaches. The incumbent works in line with overall UNHCR directions, which crucially require working with partners, including forcibly displaced and stateless persons, governmental institutions, and the private sector. This ensures programme monitoring aligns with UNHCR’s Strategic Directions, Global Strategic Priorities (GSPs), Global Compact for Refugees (GCR), and corporate positions on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The incumbent maintains contacts within and outside the Organization, including with partners and other stakeholders related to programme monitoring. S/he is expected to work in line with the multi-functional team (MFT) approach as defined within the Program Chapter, ensuring the participation of relevant stakeholders in all phases of the Program Management Cycle.
