I. OBJECTIVES The services of an individual contractor are needed to carry out research and analyses on Information Society, Digital Cooperation & Digital Development to support the development of technical materials on the subject and the convening of related events. The individual contractor will provide support to the Phase 2 of the “Advancing Digital Cooperation and Development – Arab States Action Programme” project (ADCD-ASAP phase 2)’s both digital development and digital cooperation tracks activities. II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES In particular, the IC will be tasked to do the following: • Research, extract and compile basic information and technical data on Information Society, Digital Cooperation & Digital Development in the Arab region from a wide variety of information sources; and prepare abstracts/bibliographic descriptions for inclusion in related documents, articles, books and publications. • Prepare statistical tables, graphs, and other visual aids to support research findings pertaining to National Digital Development Review Reports (NDDRs) and Agendas (NDDAs), Arab Digital Agenda (ADA) and Digital Development and Digital Cooperation Observatories, as required. • Assist in the preparation of presentation materials using appropriate technology/software and deploying modern online tools and applications to encourage stakeholder collaboration. • Assist in the evaluation and examination of data sets for accuracy, clarity and validity specially when it comes to the DD_MMM2.0, ADD_FPM3.0 and CPF; • Contribute to designing substantive documentation and convening of a series of JTC/CRTCM meetings in support of ADA2.0, NDDRs 3.0, MMM2.0; and assist in composing their draft information note, designing their draft agenda, preparing their LoI and reports. • Carry out quality control function for outgoing documents; proofreads and edits texts for adherence. • Assist in the development and dissemination of communication materials. • Ensure smooth and efficient information flow within the ADCD-ASAP Team; and sustain an efficient information flow within the other ESCWA departments (specially the media and design departments); • Perform, under supervision, the full range of office management and general support functions. • Respond or draft responses to a wide range of correspondence and other communications; and use standard word processing package to produce a wide variety of large, complex documents and reports. • Assist in planning and organizing official events, meetings, etc., handling all necessary arrangements (e.g. room reservations, guest/participant lists, invitations, catering, seating arrangements, background documentation, special equipment, etc.) • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of events and meetings. • Manage calendars, schedule meetings, attend meetings, prepare minutes, monitor follow-up activities. • Perform other related tasks and duties as assigned.
