The United Nations Resident Coordinator System is seeking a highly experienced consultant to serve as the facilitator for the upcoming UNCT Pacific Retreat, scheduled to take place in Suva, Fiji from 1 to 3 October 2025. This strategic retreat will bring together the three Pacific Resident Coordinators, Heads of UN Agencies, and Resident Coordinator Office (RCO) staff to reflect on progress and challenges in implementing the Pacific UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2023–2027. The retreat will focus on key priorities including UN80, the Pact for the Future, gender equality acceleration, and enhanced regional collaboration. The consultant will play a central role in designing and delivering an engaging and results-oriented retreat. Responsibilities include developing the retreat agenda in consultation with stakeholders, conducting bilateral consultations with Heads of Agencies, facilitating interactive sessions, organizing external speakers, and preparing a comprehensive final report with actionable recommendations. The consultant will also support discussions among the three RCOs to strengthen collaboration and strategic alignment across the Pacific UNCTs. This role is primarily remote, but the consultant must be available to travel to Suva, Fiji to facilitate the three-day retreat. All travel arrangements and expenses, including per diem, will be fully covered and organized by the United Nations and are excluded from the remuneration package. The total remuneration for the consultancy is USD 10,227, with payments made upon completion of deliverables. Ideal candidates will hold an advanced degree in a relevant field and possess a minimum of 15 years of experience in international development or strategic facilitation. Strong experience in facilitating UN retreats or similar strategic planning events is essential, along with a deep understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), UN Reform, and inter-agency coordination. Fluency in English and excellent facilitation, analytical, and communication skills are required.
