Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Contribute to the planning and coordination of climate resilience programming of both IOM and BRAVE Consortium partners to ensure the implementation of an integrated, sustainable, and cost-effective approach to building climate resilience.
- Participate in the development and piloting of sustainable water management, climate-resilient agriculture, disaster risk reduction, and adaptive social protection technical guidelines in coordination with academic and Consortium partners.
- Support the implementation and integration of nature-based solutions, anticipatory action programming and community-based early warning systems across the Consortium in close collaboration with relevant regional and national stakeholders.
- Coordinate the application of, and follow up on compliance with, Consortium partners regarding climate resilience technical guidelines and programmatic commitments.
- Contribute to monitoring and evaluation components for climate resilience programming, including the use of tools to assess household and community-level climate resilience.
- Liaise with national government, regional government, international and national organisations, and academic partners to maintain collaboration and support partnership-building conducive to climate resilience in Pakistan.
- Contribute to humanitarian coordination efforts as aligned with IOM’s S-NFI and WASH teams, where relevant.

Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications and Experience:
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution in Natural Sciences, Engineering, Climate Change, Geography, or related field with a minimum four years of relevant professional experience; or,
- Master’s degree in the above fields with two years of relevant professional experience.
- Prior experience working in the field of climate change.
EXPERIENCE:
- Practical field experience in climate resilience programming with familiarity in sustainable water management, disaster risk reduction, climate-resilient agriculture, and adaptive social protection components.
- Experience engaging with government authorities, inter-governmental institutions, UN agencies and national and international NGOs.
- Familiarity with climate adaptation programming and contextual priorities in southern Pakistan.
- Understanding of international organisation programme management.
- Experience in analysing and collecting data through different modalities and in preparing technically sound research and knowledge products.
Advantageous:
- Experience and understanding of the humanitarian programme cycle, preferably in the Pakistan context.
- Understanding of the vulnerabilities experienced by diverse population groups in Pakistan, and mobility dynamics, with relevance to climate change.
SKILLS:
- Good technical knowledge of sustainable water management, climate-resilient agriculture, disaster risk reduction, and adaptive social protection thematics with relevance to southern Pakistan.
- Familiarity with nature-based solutions, anticipatory action, integrated water resource management, and community-based early warning systems.
- Strong skills in research design, information management, data analysis, and report writing.
- Strong communication, outreach, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to maintain trust and effective working relationships with counterparts.
- Team-oriented, but with capacity to work independently and with minimal supervision.

- Strong organizational and time management skills, and ability to deliver under tight timelines.
- Understanding of UN policies, procedures and institutional tools.
Languages:
IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish.
REQUIRED:
For this position, fluency in English and Urdu is required (oral and written).
DESIRABLE:
Working knowledge of Sindhi or other languages spoken in Northern Sindh, Southern Punjab and Eastern Balochistan is an advantage
