SECONDED NATIONAL EXPERT- JOB PROFILE
Analyst
(Analysis Unit/ EIBM Intelligence Division)
Tasks and responsibilities:
Reporting to the Head of Sector the main duties related to these positions are:
delivering tailored high-quality analysis on the nature and scope of illegal migration and
cross-border criminal activities falling in Frontex’ mandate;
providing support to analytical activities in the framework of IBM, in at least one of the
below areas:
irregular migration and migrant smuggling
other cross-border crimes (drug smuggling, firearms smuggling, THB, excise
goods smuggling);
intelligence, including the processing of operational personal data and analysis
of other information collected from HUMINT
producing intelligence based on and utilising all-source analysis through different
analytical techniques;
providing analytical support in risk analysis networks with Member States and Third
Countries;
drafting risk assessments, reports, letters, briefing notes and responses to enquiries;
supporting the organisation of meetings, workshops, seminars and network cooperation
relevant to the area of expertise, in the field of unit/sector activities;
participating in various meetings/conferences and presenting analytical findings
relevant for the area of responsibility;
supporting and implementing cooperation with internal and external stakeholders and
promoting best practices and knowledge-sharing.
Selection criteria:
Professional qualifications, competencies and experience required:
Essential:
At least 2 years of professional experience in delivering high quality analytical
products in the areas of expertise
At least 2 years of professional experience in processing and analysing information
from different information sources
Ability to develop hypotheses on irregular migration and cross-border criminal
activities, identify intelligence gaps and make recommendations for risk mitigation
measures
Ability to draft clear and concise written output in English including analytical
reports and briefing notes
Assets:
Familiarity with the mandate of Frontex, and related regulatory framework in the
area of expertise
Training in risk analysis or intelligence
Experience in cooperating with internal and external stakeholders in risk analysis
or intelligence production

Sound knowledge of tools and applications used for analysis and information
collection relevant to the area of expertise
Personal skills & competencies required:
Capability to organise and manage work, including the ability to cope with stress
in relation to demanding and multiple tasks, heavy workload, time pressure and
tight deadlines
Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills in English at least
at C1 level (ability to communicate clearly and precisely to different audiences
both orally and in writing)
High
intercultural sensitivity, demonstrating knowledge, awareness, and
acceptance of other cultures and cultural identities
