BACKGROUND
Purpose of Activity/Assignment:
The purpose of this consultancy is to ensure the high-quality instructional design and adult-appropriate methodology for a series of Social and Behavior Change (SBC) capacity-building trainings to be delivered to national stakeholders, including government organizations, universities, and professional groups. The expert will work in close collaboration with the UNICEF SBC Officer to develop tailored, engaging, and practical training packages that meet the learning needs of adult professionals distinct from traditional pedagogical approaches used in university settings.
The selected expert will apply a modern andragogical approach centred on interactivity, relevance, and clarity, ensuring that training materials are tailored to the needs of adult professionals, practice-oriented and designed to effectively deliver key SBC concepts, tools and approaches.
Under the supervision of the SBC officer, the consultant will assist UNICEF in developing and adjusting training materials, including a review of a trainer’s guide developed by the SBC Officer, development of a participant workbook, visual aids, handouts learning. The expert will also provide feedback on draft presentations developed by the SBC Officer and regular coordination with an SBC trainer, contracted by UNICEF to deliver planned training, to ensure methodical alignment and readiness.
This consultancy is critical to guarantee the instructional integrity and accessibility of all materials used in SBC trainings. By adapting content to the learning preferences of adult professionals and ensuring consistency and quality across training cycles.

Conduct a pre-training alignment call. Join a 45–60 minute preparatory call with the SBC trainer and the SBC Officer prior to each training to clarify structure and responsibilities, agree on adaptations, finalize the delivery flow.
