Job Description:

This position will focus primarily on local partnering, proposal coordination and development and donor engagement. The job holder will lead on proposal development for

competitive and complex funding opportunities aligned with WV Solomon Islands ’s strategy. He/She will support resource acquisition efforts for the office and will ensure
strong monitoring of PNS projects. A team player and good communicator, this person will need to establish strong internal and external relationships, working across crossfunctional
teams. They will lead on local partner and donor analysis, on project start up activities and participate in some interagency meetings.

  • Information & Knowledge Management
  • Effective Grant/Project Cycle Management
  • Local Partnering & Donor Engagement
  • Administrative & Logistical Support

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE:

  • Two to three years of hands-on experience in writing grant proposals/managing a development project
  • Strong English oral and writing skills
  • Sound project management skills and experiences
  • Ability to be work on tight deadlines and deliver quality results
  • Ability to collaborate with others in and outside his/her own team
  • Target focused with effective time management, prioritization and planning skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office software required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google drive)
  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Economics, Humanitarian Affairs or related fields
  • Previous experience working with a non-governmental organization
  • Experience in one or more of the following sectors: Gender, Livelihoods, WASH, Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Change, Education, and Health
  • In-depth knowledge of international development programming
  • Ability to coordinate complex activities, meet deadlines, and exercise sound judgment
  • Excellent time management skills and resourcefulness with strong attention to detail
