The World Economic Forum is the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation, engaging the foremost leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas.
The Forum works with partners to accelerate a sustainable, secure and just energy and materials transition that delivers on future societal needs. To this end, the community has established the Securing Minerals for the Energy Transition (SMET) initiative to accelerate policy dialogue, investment mobilisation, innovation and thought leadership across a global ecosystem.
Why we are Recruiting
SMET is scaling up activities, including around trade and investment flows and policies, responding to a rapidly evolving landscape. The Lead will be responsible for trade and investment research contributing to SMET deliverables. That will involve drafting concise written outputs, working with the Forum’s partners to iterate content, and providing accessible trade and investment data insights to facilitate various dialogues. It will also involve tracking the evolving landscape around minerals partnerships and intergovernmental efforts. In addition, Lead will liaise between the SMET team and the Forum’s government engagement, as well as international organisation teams.
Reporting Lines and Interactions
The Lead will report to the Deputy Head of CRTG, Head of Responsible Trade & Governance from the Centre for Regions, Trade and Geopolitics with a dotted line to the Manager, Materials System of the Centre for Energy and Materials.
The role will involve interactions with a broad range of stakeholders and companies in the industry value chain, but also with relevant industry bodies and associations as well as public stakeholders.
