BACKGROUND: The International Trade Centre (ITC) is the joint cooperation agency of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the United Nations (UN) for trade-related technical assistance. Its primary objective is to assist developing countries to enhance their international competitiveness while taking advantage of market opportunities and increasing their exports. The Trade and Market Intelligence section (TMI) has developed a range of online tools for strategic and operational market research, focusing on products and markets of interest to developing countries and assessing sectoral and national trade performance and competitiveness. Trade Map (TM) is one of ITC’s flagship tools, providing comprehensive trade statistics and market analysis. TMI is currently revamping TM to improve the user experience through a modernised interface, enhanced features, and updated guidance materials. To ensure the successful launch of the new TM beta, TMI seeks an intern to support communications, user engagement, promotional content creation, and launch event preparation. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Market Analyst (TMI), the intern will: • Support Communications and Promotion, including: o Support the development and implementation of the communications and promotional plan for the new TM beta launch. o Create promotional materials (e.g., visuals, brochures, infographics) aligned with the new interface, including content for social media channels. o Produce launch-related videos, including promotional clips, updated user guides, and guided tour demonstrations. o Support the preparation and organisation of the new TM beta launch event. • Support User Engagement and Feedback, including: o Update user guides, help pages, and tutorial videos to reflect the new platform features. o Assist in conducting and compiling results of user testing for the new TM beta, including collecting feedback, documenting findings, and suggesting improvements. o Assist in user communication for the beta launch, respond to user queries during the beta phase, and ensure timely follow-up. ITC champions workforce diversity, inclusion, gender equality and gender parity and considers all qualified persons – of all genders – equally, including those with disabilities, without discrimination or prejudice of any kind.
