JOB DESCRIPTION
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Educational background in social sciences, psychology, or related field; or equivalent experience working directly with children.
- Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply, including those with informal education but strong understanding of gender dynamics and GBV.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; ability to engage with children, youth, community leaders, and government officials.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel).
- Flexibility to work in challenging field conditions with remote management.
- Deep understanding of local context, child development, and cultural practices affecting child welfare.
- Knowledge of child protection concerns, indicators of abuse, and commitment to child protection principles.

- Proficiency in English and Arabic is desirable.

Child Protection Team Management & Program Implementation
- Ensure implementation of all child protection activities at field level in line with the agreed workplan and Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action (CPMS).
- Collaborate in developing curricula, tools, IEC materials, and resources for activities hosted in the Multipurpose Community Center (MPC).
- Facilitate and supervise MPC and CFS activities in collaboration with facilitators, ensuring they are age-appropriate, culturally sensitive, inclusive, and innovative.
- Draft and regularly update MPC/CFS workplans with input from children and facilitators.
- Engage with CBCPCs to gather insights on community dynamics and adapt programming accordingly.
- Coordinate and strengthen community-based child protection systems, ensuring clear roles, capacity building, and ongoing support for CBCPCs.
- Refer SGBV survivors and children needing specialized services to the Case Management team, ensuring ethical and survivor-centered approaches.

- Conduct needs assessments, protection monitoring, FGDs, and community meetings to inform programming.
- Raise awareness on child rights and protection issues through direct community engagement and advocacy.
- Participate in field-level coordination meetings and contribute to service mapping and referral pathway updates.
- Manage SCI protection assets and supervise field operations as delegated.
Human Resource Management & Activity Monitoring
- Lead weekly planning, supervision, and evaluation meetings with MPC and MHPSS facilitators.
- Develop and monitor weekly workplans and staff activity reports.
- Identify and address capacity building needs for child protection staff, partners, and community members.
- Monitor attendance and implement strategies to improve participation.
- Collaborate with MEAL and CP teams to ensure child-friendly feedback mechanisms and gather input from children and adolescents on activity quality and relevance.
- Monitor the quality and impact of activities, ensuring alignment with standards.
Reporting
- Lead the development and submission of weekly activity reports, including attendance tracking for CFSs and GFSs.
- Provide timely and quality inputs for donor and management reports (weekly, monthly, ad hoc).
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of all child protection activities.
Support the documentation and dissemination of good practices at project and thematic levels
CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
The post holder will have direct contact with children and/or young people frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. 21 days in one month or more or overnight)
