Job Description:

The Community Development Facilitator (CDF) plays a crucial role in supporting communities throughout the implementation of activities under the “Delivering Financial and Insurance Literacy Training for Women and Vulnerable Groups in the Solomon Islands that require the presence of World Vision. The objective of this project is to increase awareness on Climate and Disaster Risk Financing and Insurance (CDRFI) solutions, such as parametric insurance, for vulnerable communities in the Solomon Islands. With a particular emphasis on women and underserved groups, the project aims to address critical gaps in financial literacy and awareness. The role of the CDF is to support and deliver on the financial literacy and insurance awareness campaigns and training, especially with women and other vulnerable groups.

MAJOR ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project Planning and Implementation
  • Community Mobilization Engagement and Training (community participation in project activities)
  • Project Monitoring, learning and Reporting

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE:

  • 2 – 3 years of experience in developmental interventions
  • Community Development Certificate/Diploma/Degree or 2 -3 years’ experience as community development facilitator or in related field
  • Diploma/Degree in Business/Finance studies
  • Computer skills
  • Understanding poverty and community empowerment approaches to development
  • Good communication (local Knowledge)
