The position

Eurojust is launching a selection procedure to establish a reserve list for the profile of Judicial Cooperation Officer (JITs Collaboration Platform).

Under the supervision of the Head of the JITs network Secretariat, the Judicial Cooperation Officer provides support to JITs collaboration platform users in the practical application of the platform, ensures administrative, legal and functional assistance, training and awareness raising and promotes the use of the JITs collaboration platform.

Key accountabilities

Legal Support

  • Advising on the legal framework governing JIT s and JIT s collaboration platform;
  • Addressing legal concerns regarding data exchange, data protection and security;
  • Providing legal support to JITs collaboration platform users, including in relation to JIT evaluation process.

Technical & Functional Support

  • Assisting JIT space administrators in setting up new JIT collaboration spaces;
  • Handling access management and modification requests;
  • Assisting practitioners (law enforcement officers, prosecutors, etc.) in navigating the platform;
  • Providing support for issues with messaging, documents sharing, and collaboration tools (calendars, notice board, JIT funding information);
  • Updating users on new features and best practices:
  • Helping with technical issues of business nature related to platform access or

functionality;

  • Providing general information on JITs collaboration platform legal framework and functionalities to all interested practitioners.

Training & Capacity Building

  • Developing training modules, designing user manuals and delivering specialised training (both online and in-person) for JITs collaboration platform users;
  • Organizing workshops and webinars to demonstrate the platform’s functionalities.

Promoting Cross-Border Cooperation & Awareness

  • Engaging with law enforcement agencies, judicial authorities, and policymakers to encourage the use of the platform;
  • Highlighting success stories and case studies where the JITs collaboration platform improved cooperation;
  • Distributing informational material on the benefits and functionalities of the platform.

Collecting Feedback & continuous improvement

  • Conducting user surveys and feedback sessions to gather insights on platform performance;
  • Identifying functional gaps or areas needing improvement;
  • Preparing an annual report outlining suggestions for new features, security enhancements, or usability improvements;
  • Collaborating with eu-LISA to implement changes based on user needs.

Eligibility criteria

The selection procedure is open to applicants who satisfy the following eligibility criteria on the closing date for application:

  1. General requirements

The applicant must:

  • Be a national of one of the Member States of the European Union (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden);
  • Enjoy full rights as a citizen;
  • Have fulfilled any obligations imposed by the laws concerning military service;
  • Produce the appropriate character references as to their suitability for the performance of their duties[1];
  • Be physically fit to perform their duties; and
  • Have a thorough knowledge (C1) of one of the languages of the European Union[2] and a satisfactory knowledge (B2) of another language of the European Union to                     the

extent necessary for the performance of their duties.

  1. Minimum qualifications and professional experience

A level of education which corresponds to completed university studies of at least 3 years attested by a diploma.

Only qualifications that have been awarded in EU Member States or that are subject to the equivalence certificates issued by the authorities in the EU Member States will be taken into consideration.

The Selection Board will assess all eligible applications on the basis of the following criteria:

Required experience and knowledge

  • Proven professional experience in comparable tasks to those listed under “Key accountabilities”. In particular, the Selection Board will assess the range of duties covered, the type and level of work done and its relevance to the vacancy;
  • A university degree in law, criminology, criminal justice or another relevant field;
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in the area of cross-border judicial cooperation in criminal matters;
  • Practical experience and knowledge in relation to joint investigation teams.

Advantageous

  • Knowledge of Eurojust’s legal framework and judicial/law enforcement cooperation in the EU;
  • Experience managing IT tools related to judicial cooperation;
  • Work experience gained in a similar multicultural environment. Preference will be given to work experience abroad.
