The Position:
UNFPA’s support to SRHR interventions through DGNM, DGHS & DGFP and other IPs with the objective of increased availability and use of integrated sexual and reproductive health services, including family planning, maternal health and HIV that are gender-responsive and meet human rights standards for quality of care and equity in access. To address the continued need strengthened national policy and health sector capacity to deliver a midwife-led continuum of care and Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care and increased institutional capacity to deliver integrated and equitable sexual and reproductive health services, midwifery led care centres, including addressing STIs/HIV, in development and humanitarian contexts.
To facilitate the effective execution of these programs, under the overall guidance of the Chief of Health, SRHR Specialist, Programme Analyst – Compliance and direct supervision of the Programme Associate – SRH, the SRHR Assistant ensures the effective functioning of SRHR programme, administration and financial operations, and systems in support of the programme and office management at country office level. The SRHR Assistant will assist with programme, admin and finance functions including workplan preparation, expenditure/disbursement reports, and logistical arrangements. The role is key to assisting ensuring compliance with internal policies, donor requirements, and statutory regulations. This position will also be responsible for organizing meetings/workshops, internal/external communication and documentation of SRHR programme activities in coordination with all programmes focal.

The SRHR Assistant facilitates the work of consultants, advisors, and experts and establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with counterparts in government, multi-lateral and bilateral donor agencies and civil society to address emerging issues. S/he must effectively influence counterparts from diverse backgrounds to jointly contribute to achieving UNFPA’s mandate. The SRHR Assistant is a substantive contributor to the programme team in the Country Office.
