Role Purpose
Save the Children International Cambodia (SCI) is seeking an Education Manager and Team Leader to lead the education programme and manage “Building the Climate Resilience of Children and Communities through the Education Sector Project (BRACE)”, which is funded by the Green Climate Fund (GCF). The BRACE is five-year project that will be co-executed by Save the Children in Cambodia and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS).
The BRACE project focuses on enhancing the climate resilience of the education sector and addressing risks and impacts from droughts, heat stress, and floods.
The Education Manager and BRACE Team Leader is a technical leadership and project management role for the overall education program, including inclusive Basic Education (IE/BE), Early Childhood Development (ECD) and Special Education (SE) and climate-smart education. The role plays as an education strategic goal owner for strategy development, innovation, technical expertise (TE), project design using SCI Common Approach, proposal development, mobilizing adequate resources and sound project management in line with SCI Project Management Methodology (PMM), Project Reporting Information, Management and Evidence System (PRIME) for education programme. The post holder will ensure full compliance with the GCF and SCI’s rules and regulations.
The post holder is a member of the Extended Senior Management Team, represent Save the Children internally and externally, initiates and actively engages in education policy or strategy dialogues organised by the government, Development Partners and CSOs and leads advocacy at all levels with stakeholders to improve climate-education resilience and quality in Cambodia.
The postholder will lead and manage BRACE project for setting up, planning, managing staff and work closely with the Accredited Entity and Executing Entity Partner for implementation and ensuring overall quality assurance of the project. The team leader will also ensure that the project regularly interacts with the BRACE’s core support team and works in close collaboration with BRACE’s Project Secretariat as well as technical department officials.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly, such as participating in the emergency response team and carrying out responsibilities outlined in the ERT Operation Platform and/or assigned by the line manager.
