Key Responsibilities
Generic responsibilities
- Adhere to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines, and donor requirements
- Assist with the implementation of the logistic function’s portfolio according to Plan of Action
- Provide logistic administration and basic support
- Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
- Ensure proper filing of all support documents
- Assist in the planning and delivery of logistic activity
- Maintain logistic records, suppliers and equipment

- Promote and share ideas for improvement of the logistic function
- Perform other duties, as assigned by Line Manager
Specific responsibilities
General management of fleet (vehicles & generators)
- Ensure that all vehicles are safe and road-worthy and have proper vehicle documentation as per the govt. rules
- Schedule vehicles are used to meet programmatic and operational needs
- Manage drivers’ hours and schedules ensuring smooth operation of the fleet
- Continuous tracking of vehicle and generator log-sheets
- Ensure proper fuel management by tracking down the consumption asset per asset and by preparing order in advance to avoid shortages.
- Conduct the Vehicle & Gens Maintenance Services on the routine basses.
Stock Management
- Ensure that the Area Office stock has been managed in compliance to Logistics Handbook and SOP of NRC Sudan.
- Ensure all stock items have been recorded timely and necessary paperwork shall be completed against each inward or outward transaction of stock items.
- Ensure each stock item has a stock card which shall be updated against each transaction.
- Generate and share updated stock report of Gadarif Field office at the end of each month and for onward sharing with Finance and Program on need basis.
- Ensure that stock of AO office supplies and stationery and other consumable items like printer toners have been timely replenished and buffer stock has always been maintained keeping in view consumption behaviour of each item.
- Conduct and facilitate physical verification of stock in coordination with the Finance department
Procurement procedures-support only and no direct involvement as per duties segregation policy
- Identifying suitable suppliers for different procurements scope
- Assisting in creating a filing system that meets NRC standards
- Prepare procurement files as per NRC procedures and submit them for validation.
- Identify bottleneck and address them quickly to ensure smooth and efficient process is in place, in the objective of meeting the requesters’ deadline for delivery.
Office duties
- Preparing of lists of items required for the office and liaising between the suppliers and management as required
- Delivering/collecting documentation at various offices
- Assets management support and update of the register and inventory items
- Store reports and support of the monthly stock report preparation
- Physical stores control, stock and bin cards managements
- Daily labor planning and guidance

Requirements and Qualifications
Professional competencies
Generic professional competencies:
- Basic experience from working as a logistic assistant in a humanitarian/recovery context
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
Context related skills, knowledge and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or related disciplines
- 1-2 years’ work experience as a Logistic Assistant or similar role
- Fluent in oral and written English and Arabic
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Achievement of set benchmarks and objectives
- Ability to communicate effectively and proactively
