Fiji Program Support Platform (FPSP)
Program Overview:
FPSP, also referred to as the ‘Platform’, a Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) investment, will contribute to the delivery of Fiji’s national development priorities, in line with the Australia’s International Development Policy, the Fiji-Australia Vuvale Partnership and the Development Partnership Plan.
The Platform will deliver key bilateral programs, such as health, education, scholarships, social infrastructure, governance, climate and emergency preparedness and response. Platform activities will identify and address climate risks, promote climate action, and gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) across and beyond the sector programs.
The Platform has three functional Outcomes:
NAP Overview:
The Fiji NAP sets out a whole-of-government and whole-of-population approach with five key strategies (strategic pillars) to comprehensively address violence and commits to work strategically across 13 key influential settings in Fiji to address VAWG holistically in all aspects of public and private life: Education Sector; Universities, technical and vocational colleges; Workplaces and corporations; Sports and recreation spaces; Arts ; Health and Social services; Faith based contexts; Media, advertising and entertainment; Public spaces, transport, infrastructure; Legal, justice and corrections; Informal sector; Disciplined Forces; Traditional institutions and entities.
Implementation of the NAP is supported by UNFPA as the technical partner, with program support from the Platform.
Position Summary:
The Prevention in Sports Adviser supports the NAP Coordination and Implementation Unit (CIU) by assessing sports and gender equality programs gaps and contributions to the NAP, developing a brief engagement plan, codes of conduct and safeguarding advice, and building the capacity of the NAP Coordination and Engagement Unit team to engage effectively with the education sector to prevent VAWG.
The Prevention in Sports Adviser will have direct reporting to line to the Fiji NAP National Coordinator and will work in close collaboration with the NAP Coordination and Implementation Unit team, and the Platform GEDSI and Safeguarding teams.
