Main purpose of job:
We are looking for a Corporate Services Assistant to join the British Embassy in Zagreb on a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2026.
Roles and responsibilities:
1. Supervision of scheduled maintenance and Health and Safety at the Residential properties, including:
2. Market research for Cost-of-Living Allowances (COLA). 3. Managing stationery (inventory/ordering), managing the printer contract and arranging servicing. 4. Pressure relief for Residence staff – assisting with events and other duties.

Other benefits and conditions of employment
This is a part-time, fixed-term contract until 31 March 2026. The monthly gross salary for this position is €902 + €47,47 transport allowance.
The role would be subject to a 1 month probationary period.
The successful candidate will be subject to professional background and security clearance and must have pre-existing work authorisation for Croatia in order to apply.
Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Zagreb are subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Croatian employment law.
Visa/Passport requirements: Candidates must currently hold the independent right to live and work in Croatia.

Learning and development:
Given the broad nature of the role, the Embassy appreciates that it might be difficult for a single candidate to already have experience in the skills, behaviours and tasks listed in this job description.
The successful candidate will therefore need to demonstrate in their application both relevant experiences, along with a willingness and ability to learn other parts of the role once in situ. The successful candidate will be able to shadow the current Residence Manager for a period before she retires, to allow for ‘on the job training’ in areas that the successful candidate might not already have experience in.
Formal corporate training will be provided on e.g. FCDO security training, Health and safety training, GDPR training, FCDO Procurement.
