Main purpose of job:
The Communications Team oversees and coordinates communication activity and media work for the British Embassy and Consulates General in China; advising on and delivering strategic campaigns and internal communication; leading our digital communication and projecting the UK’s soft power and influence by building partnerships with other organisations and opinion leaders.

The Campaigns Officer will be a passionate communicator with an understanding of and enthusiasm for both the UK and China. They will play a key supporting role in promoting the UK’s growth, ‘soft power’ and ‘values’ messages through network wide campaigns as well as working on smaller projects and events (for example making the most of a visit from a UK celebrity or expert or the premiere of UK film).
The jobholder will support the planning, execution, and delivery of campaigns and events aimed at engaging and influencing target audiences in China on key priority issues. The role involves assisting in all stages of campaign development—from audience research and content creation to event logistics and post-campaign evaluation. Team working and interpersonal skills are also essential as the job holder will have to engage persuasively with the internal teams, suppliers, partners and sponsors.
This role involves performing certain essential repetitive tasks, for example raising purchase orders, so attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus are essential. The ideal candidate should be reliable, meticulous, and capable of consistently delivering accurate work.

Working Patterns:
