The Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe, as a nation committed to advancing the well-being of its people, is focusing on integrating impactful advocacy tools into development efforts. UNICEF São Tomé and Príncipe recognizes the significance of visual storytelling in engaging stakeholders, raising awareness, and driving change. As part of its mission, the organization seeks to Create, Edit and Design an office SOPs handbook, SBC trainers” and replicators” manual and National Social Protection Strategy document. This approach aligns with UNICEF”s principles of equity and inclusion, ensuring that key messages resonate effectively across diverse audiences. The infographics will play a pivotal role in showcasing results and progress, fostering transparency and strengthening advocacy for child rights.
This initiative is further strengthened by the contribution of the selected online volunteer, whose expertise in digital art will transform all documents into compelling visuals that can be leveraged in campaigns and communications.

Key Responsibilities

UNICEF STP is seeking a skilled online volunteer who, under guidance of UNICEF STP Operations Officer, SBC Officer, Social Policy Officer and overall supervision of UNICEF STP Deputy Representative, will be responsible for creating and editing impactful and visually engaging infographics based on several existent documents as follows:
• Assignments 1 -The online volunteer is asked to: compile the different SOPs in a booklet in a suitable design and easy to read.
• Assignments 2 – Design to edit the SBC trainers” and replicators” manual
• Assignments 3- Editing of the National Social Protection Strategy documentTentative timeline of the assignments: 1st – 10 September Delivery of first drafts of booklet. 15th September – UNICEF STP office provides feedback. 25th September– Delivery of final document. By submitting the final document, the online volunteer agrees to let UNICEF use it as deemed fit. UNICEF will provide credit to the artist.
The responsibilities of the ideal candidate will include analyzing the document”s content, identifying essential data and insights, and designing infographics that align with the objectives. Share the file in editable versions with the UNICEF team.

Required Skills and Experience

• professional training in digital and related areas. Proven experience in digital illustration, and design • Proficiency in graphic design tools, canvass or similar applications and a strong sense of visual storytelling are essential. • Understanding of ethical considerations in depicting sensitive topics. • Good verbal and written communication skills in English and French.
