As the science and knowledge service of the European Commission, the Joint Research Centre provides independent, evidence-based knowledge and science, supporting EU policies to positively impact society. The activities are carried out in collaboration with relevant Commission Services, national and international organisations and stakeholders. At the JRC we organise our work in portfolios which are the main building blocks of our multi-annual work programmes. The JRC is located in five Member States (Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain). More information about the JRC and its portfolios can be found at: https://ioint- research-centre.ec.europa.eu/index en The currenty vacancy is within Unit R.9 “Financial Service” which has the mission to steer the implementation of modern, harmonised and streamlined financial business processes, systems and services across the JRC and for the e-procurement project at Commission level. The Unit acts as a centre of financial competence coordinating and facilitating best practices in finance and procurement across the JRC by providing training and supporting the financial and operational networks. The Unit provides guidance and administrative support for the JRC’s contractual activities. The Unit also provides the JRC financial reporting and accounting services.

We are looking for an experienced Information Systems Assistant, familiar with datawarehouse in the financial domain. Namely the following requirements are considered essential for the job: • 3 years experience in datawarehouse implementation and maintenance (business objects, SSRS) and database management systems (Oracle); • 3 years experience with budgetary and financial matters;
• 3 years experience in providing training, advice and support for self-service Business Intelligence.
The selected candidate will have strong analytical skills.
A very good command of English and a good knowledge of another official EU language are required.

We propose a challenging job of assistant in a small team of colleagues specialised in the area of IT business analytics applied to budget and finance. The selected candidate will be in charge of the operations of the Financial DataMart (FDM), the JRC local datawarehouse merging information from different IT systems (SUMMA, Jipsy/SAC Planning, MIPS, TAS, JPB). You will set up the procedure to upload data from the various systems/datawarehouses and monitor the daily upload of data into FDM. You will also prepare the standard reports to be distributed to users and act as helpdesk for all issues related to financial datawarehouse. Therefore the job implies the analysis of the business needs and the resulting business intelligence architecture.
