ECHA/TRN/2026/018 – Integrated Regulatory Systems (I3)
Integrated Regulatory Systems Unit designs and delivers information systems and process management functions that support ECHA in implementing the Agency’s Integrated Regulatory Strategy. We ensure that processes are accurately analysed, software is thoroughly selected, and that products and platforms used to build and configure solutions that enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the Agency’s staff, relevant Member State authorities and committee members are proficient.
The Data team designs, implements and maintains data-oriented IT solutions and services for business intelligence, data integration, data aggregation, dissemination of chemicals information and data governance within ECHA. We have recently embarked the journey with the data governance and data products that will be visualised as dynamic dashboards in the PowerBI. The work is organized by 4+1 Portals and the Trainee will join the IUCLID Cluster (the “+1” Portal) covering the cross-functional activities.
Assignment
The Power BI trainee will assist the Integrated Regulatory Systems unit’s data team with project needs and operational work to support the data visualisation of the different business areas across ECHA. He/she will develop new and maintain existing PowerBI reports. The main duties of the role shall cover, among others:
• Develop and maintain PowerBI reports and dashboards from various data sources e.g. Sharepoint Lists, Databricks, Oracle and other relational and non-relational databases.
• Collaborate with various Directorates to gather and analyze data requirements.
• Assist in the design and implementation of data visualizations and models to follow the best practices.
• Document contents of the BI solutions and meta-data storage
• Drive proactively continuous improvements of existing BI solutions together with business stakeholders and the IT community
• Ensure data accuracy and consistency across reports.
• Provide support and training to end-users on PowerBI tools and reports across the organisation.
• Stay updated with the latest PowerBI features and best practices especially focusing on the Fabric.
Profile
• Completed university studies at least to bachelor degree level in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field;
• Basic knowledge of PowerBI and data visualization principles.
• Great analytical skillset, attention to the detail and passion for problem-solving.
• Experience in using Microsoft Office tools;
• Good communication and interpersonal skills;
• Aptitude for team work and getting the things done;
• Excellent command of written and spoken English;
• Familiarity with SQL and data modelling is a plus.
• Experience in an international/multicultural environment is a plus.
