JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary
Facilitate day 1 of the Awareness-Raising Round Table on Gender and Migration & Training on GBV and SEAH in the PDO Context on 6th November 2025 in Almaty.
Key Responsibilities
Tasks to be performed under this contract
To moderate Day 1 of the event, ensuring the smooth flow of the agenda, timekeeping, meaningful engagement of participants, and delivery of one dedicated session on human rights in the context of migration and gender.
Day 1 of the Roundtable is moderated and prepared for:
- Moderate the full Day 1 agenda (6 November 2025), including opening, panel discussions, Q&A, and interactive segments.
- Ensure time management, transitions between speakers/sessions, and audience engagement throughout the day.
- Introduce speakers and panelists, facilitate discussions, and summarize key points where relevant.
- Deliver one interactive session in the context of gender and migration (up to 45 minutes).
- Collaborate with IOM staff in preparation meetings prior to the event to align on structure, content, and roles.
- Provide light-touch support in finalizing/modifying the Day 1 agenda if needed for flow and clarity.
Contribute to a brief summary of Day 1 discussions (bullet points) to be submitted within 3 working days after the event.
Performance indicators for the evaluation of results
The consultant facilitated all relevant sessions as per the tasks given.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Higher education (Bachelor’s degree or higher) in Sociology, Anthropology, Economics, Development Studies or Migration Studies or related field from a recognized institution;
- Good knowledge of national and international legislation in the areas of migration and labour legislation, human rights protection, counter trafficking, family and criminal law
- At least 5 years of working experience in migration and/or financial inclusion related fields; Prior experience of conducting research on labour migration; Prior experience in producing SOP;
- Extensive experience in communication with migrants and relevant government stakeholders;
- Demonstrated knowledge of international data and migration statistics standards and practices and ability to apply this knowledge to a new context;
- Knowledge of English, Kazakh and Russian.
- Ability to communicate efficiently and concisely, strong organizational skills, attention to the details, personal commitments, capacity to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds
