The objective of this assignment is to support the Zero Waste in the Caribbean Project initiative by organizing, categorizing, and managing knowledge resources to ensure easy access,
retrieval, and utilization of information. This facilitates efficient decision-making, stakeholder engagement, and project implementation.
Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Regional Project Coordinator within the Project Coordination Unit (PCU), with the overall guidance of the Head, Caribbean Sub-Regional Office (CSRO), the UNEP Regional Coordinator on Chemicals and Pollution, or his/her designated mandated representative(s), and the Regional Project Coordinator, and under the supervision of the Project Assistant, the two Online Volunteers will perform one of the following specific tasks:
1 OV. Compile and collate publications, articles, acts, and other materials related to solid waste management and Circular Economy
More specifically, he/she will:
• Collect and organize relevant legal frameworks, policies, and best practices in solid waste management and circular economy.
• Incorporate documents and resources used by UNEP Zero Waste Project Consultants into a structured knowledge database.
• Regularly update the compilation with new and emerging publications in the field.
Required Experience: 3 years.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in data and/or information management with focus on environmental management or a related field. Previous work with international organizations, NGOs, or government agencies in a similar capacity is desired.

Experience in organizing, categorizing, and maintaining databases for easy information retrieval.

Ability to research and compile articles, publications, and policies related to solid waste management and sustainability.
•
Familiarity with document management systems and knowledge-sharing platforms.
•
Experience in data entry, validation, and updating stakeholder databases.
•
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or other database management tools.
•
Ability to structure and analyse data to support project reporting and decision-making.
•
Experience in providing administrative support, including scheduling, record-keeping, and correspondence.
•
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
•
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain structured records and resources.
