WE ARE

We are the IT Solutions unit of DG ECHO (European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations). The unit develops and maintains information technology tools that address the business requirements of more than 3.000 end-users spread all over the world, including staff in the headquarters, experts in the field, ECHO partners, Member States, citizens. Furthermore, the unit provides dedicated user support and training for the Information Systems developed internally. Concerning the ICT Infrastructure the unit provides and coordinates the ICT services for the field offices in order to develop a coherent & harmonized network throughout the field network. In terms of reporting and analytics, the unit provides enhanced analysis capabilities and data quality. The sector is in charge of the document management of DG ECHO, from definition, implementation, operation and follow-up.

WE PROPOSE

We propose a job as a Team Leader, Document Management Officer (DMO) and Archivist (AST). This is a job where you will: – As DMO, manage the CAD team; – Ensure the definition, implementation, and monitoring of document administration at DG ECHO; – Update and implement the archive classification plan in DG ECHO; – Manage the correct application of the document management policy within DG ECHO in a harmonised and effective way; – Provide advice and support in the elaboration of document procedures and archiving; – Develop and provide training to users as well as providing a helpdesk service; – Assist other officials in the search for and use of its archival resources; – Take care of the protection and physical preservation of documents, records, and files in the archives, as well as their transfer to the Commission’s historical archives; – Represent DG ECHO in the document management correspondents network and other network(s) related to your area of work (e.g. for libraries). At least 2 years of experience in document management, very good command of English and good command of French are required.
