POSITION OVERVIEW
The Regional Officer for Social Mobilization (ROSM) provides strategic guidance to Field Offices (FOs) and clusters to develop and strengthen their capacities to mobilize faith organizations, private sector partners and individuals to advance World Vision’s agenda to protect children through in-person and digital mobilizations.
This position identifies, monitors and adapts relevant trends of social mobilization to enhance WV’s ability to connect with its stakeholders, fostering digital and in-person mobilization, relevant to regional and national processes. The position holder can connect with a wide range audience of faith leaders and fellowships, and speak to non-denominational audiences and engage them in impactful mobilizations to increase influence, income and impact. He/she coordinates and executes a mobilization plan within WVLCR’s External Engagement Strategy, working closely with Advocacy and Communications teams to ensure a solid and differentiated positioning of WVLCR among its internal and external stakeholders.
JOB PURPOSE
To lead activities conducing to SOCIAL CHANGE. The Regional Officer for Social Mobilisation designs, convenes and catalyses movements to drive change to protect Most Vulnerable Children (MVC) and ensure their wellbeing. The position holder creates solid links with Faith, private and individual audiences based on relevance to advance compelling and innovative mobilizations. It builds solid collaboration lines with Faith & Development (F&D), Advocacy, Operations, GAM and Communications/Marketing teams to deliver strategic outputs through:
- Empowerment and mobilization of Faith and non-denominational Communities
- External Engagement with Faith Communities (including businesses, academia and NGO related to the sector)
- Social Media and Digital Communication
KEY RESPONSABILITES
- Develop, implement and monitor results of a regional mobilization plan that contributes to the Regional Strategy of External Engagement (EE), in line with the global strategy “Our Promise 2030”, as a means to live out boldly our Faith.
- Build capacities at FO and cluster level to ensure that F&D staff and EE teams deliver high-quality mobilization plans and activities to scale up WV”s impact, influence, and income, while safeguarding WV’s reputation.
- Identify, implement and scale up mobilization of faith communities from national to cluster and to the regional level.
- Amplify WV’s engagement with Faith-Based Organisations (FBOs) through empowerment, motivation and transformation into supporters/promoters of child wellbeing agenda and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including, but not limited to:- End Hunger and Malnutrition
– Adapt/mitigate climate change at community level to protect the lives, livelihoods and opportunities of vulnerable children and their families
– End violence against children
– Sponsorship
- Identify, prioritize and engage faith Communities to mobilize.
- Development of engaging campaign concepts and contents to mobilize faith communities with an inter-religious approach.
- Oversee the scheduled delivery of quality content from National Office (NO) communications teams for the LACRO Website and replication thereof for other Partnership websites.
REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, TRAINING, LICENSE, REGISTRATION, AND /OR CERTIFICATION:
- 3 years of experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Digital Communications, marketing, Theology or sociology.
- Experience creating and implementing internal communications strategies.
- Excellent understanding of social media and knowledge of virtual events platforms.
- Experience with professional photography and video editing.
- Strong interpersonal skills in multicultural contexts.
- Excellent speaking, writing and editing skills in English and Spanish.

- Self-motivated, creative, digitally savvy.
- Sensitivity to cultural, religious and gender issues.
- Advanced understanding of the internet and the latest communication trends/technologies.
- Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
- Good understanding of geopolitical, economic and social issues in the LAC region (or the ability to acquire this understanding).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent audiovisual production/of digital tools for web development and design Canva, Adobe.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a virtual team member.
- Extensive travel experience.
- Content gathering in complex contexts is a plus.
Language Requirements:
- Excellent speaking, writing and editing skills in Spanish and English. Other language/s will be an added advantage.
Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement:
- Work will be principally homeworking/remote.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically or internationally up to 10% of the time.
