Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities)
Main purpose of job
The UK PACT Officer will play a central role in the delivery and strategic coordination of the Brazil–UK PACT Country Fund, a flagship programme within the UK Government’s global climate agenda. Working closely with the Head of UK PACT Brazil and a range of internal and external stakeholders, the postholder will help ensure the effective implementation of UK PACT projects in Brazil, supporting efforts to accelerate the country’s transition to a low-carbon economy.
The role combines stakeholder engagement, project management, communications and strategic foresight. The postholder will monitor the implementation of a diverse portfolio of technical assistance projects, identifying risks and opportunities, fostering collaboration between partners, and ensuring the programme’s objectives remain aligned with both UK and Brazilian climate priorities. A key responsibility will be to embed Gender Equality, Diversity and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) principles across the portfolio, ensuring that UK PACT contributes not only to emissions reductions but also to more inclusive and equitable development outcomes.
The successful candidate will act as a connector between multiple stakeholders to help unlock synergies, strengthen relationships, and identify new areas of impactful collaboration. The postholder will also support the Head of UK PACT Brazil in shaping the strategic direction of UK PACT in Brazil, contributing to Embassy-wide climate processes and supporting the organisation of high-profile events and visits that deepen the UK–Brazil partnership on climate.
This is a dynamic and strategic role at the intersection of climate policy, international cooperation, and programme delivery. It offers a unique opportunity to contribute to one of the UK’s most ambitious international climate initiatives, helping deliver real impact in reducing emissions, mobilising green investments, valuing standing forests, and promoting sustainable economic growth in Brazil.
