Project Background
Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC), a global project funded by the U.S Government and the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), that provides strategic technical assistance and direct service delivery to achieve HIV epidemic control among all at-risk populations; strengthen global health security (GHS), including outbreak response; expand improve maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH), address malaria; improve nutrition and promote health systems strengthening (HSS) including supply chain management. In Haiti, EpiC implements HIV, MNCH and nutrition activities, working closely with the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP).
Job Summary
Under the supervision of the MCH/Nutrition Senior Advisor, Maternal, Newborn, & Child Health (MNCH) and Nutrition, the Senior Technical Officer MNCH and Nutrition will provide technical support to staff and projects in the areas of project design, project implementation and quality assurance. This role involves implementing and monitoring strategic and technical initiatives related to MNCH and nutrition USG-endorsed life-saving interventions for pregnant women, newborns, and children including antenatal care (ANC), postnatal/postpartum care, emergency obstetric and newborn care (EmONC), integrated community case management (iCCM), infant and young child feeding, screening and treatment for acute malnutrition, among others.
This position will provide technical guidance around the issues, challenges, and strategies for achieving project targets related to improved access, quality, and coverage of MNCH and nutrition services. The Senior Technical Officer will contribute to knowledge products through the creation and management of reports, and technical materials including presentations, work plans, technical and policy briefs and other knowledge products. Working closely with project and Headquarter (HQ) teams, this position supports projects by evaluating programmatic effectiveness, overseeing technical aspects of strategies and implementation plans, and providing technical assessment reports.
Preference is given to Haitian local nationals and this will be based in Les Cayes (South).
