Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic and technical leadership to the sponsorship teams in the Dominican Republic and Haiti to ensure compliance with international and local sponsorship standards. This is achieved through context-adapted strategies that support the fulfillment of the child and donor promise, and contribute to the implementation of cluster and national sponsorship strategies.
Leadership and Strategic Guidance
• Provide strategic and technical leadership to Sponsorship operations: integrate Registered Children (RC) into impact strategies, foster transformative child engagement, manage risk and sponsorship portfolios, ensure efficient operations.
• Facilitate Sponsorship department strategic and operational planning processes according to global and regional guidelines.
• Identify challenges and opportunities; develop improvement plans; escalate cluster innovations in the context of integration.
• Represent the cluster in strategic spaces with GC, SO, and LACRO to advocate for contextual needs and support.
Capacity Development
• Ensure Caribbean cluster offices have the installed capacity to manage Sponsorship operations and integrate Sponsorship into programming.
• Coordinate and ensure implementation of the global sponsorship capabilities framework, as established by Global Marketing and Child Sponsorship (GC).
• Coordinate with Regional and/or Global IT for technical support in Horizon reimagined/HOPE.
• Facilitate and develop capacity-building resources in local languages (with GC and cluster leadership).
• Support recruitment, orientation, and capacity development of new Sponsorship Coordinators in NOs.
Transformative Child Engagement
• Lead strategies to strengthen the sponsor-child connection, ensuring integration of Sponsorship within IPFs and emergency projects.
• Guarantee the participation of children, especially Most Vulnerable Children (MVC), in sponsorship and programming processes.
• Ensure safeguarding protocols and child participation standards are followed across Sponsorship operations.
Sponsorship Operations
• Implement and ensure compliance with international Sponsorship standards, procedures, and policies.
• Manage RC portfolio risks and ensure timely activation (+2% RC portfolio growth).
• Support feasibility studies and closure of Area Programs (APs).
• Oversee the implementation of APR processes (CUP, CUV, CGV, CGP, GNs).
• Provide guidance in sponsorship emergency standards (with HEA), ensuring sponsorship continuity during emergencies.
• Monitor child well-being protocols and ensure sponsorship contribution to local fundraising efforts.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Accountability
• Monitor Sponsorship performance indicators (SOI, RCPMS, CSM, Rich Media, Queries, DQ).
• Assess risks and emerging trends and report them to cluster leadership.
• Manage and support performance of National Coordinators.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance to Sponsorship staff.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
• Promote innovation and continuous improvement in Sponsorship management.
• Identify, document, and promote best practices across NOs and the cluster.
• Establish systems for knowledge exchange and cross-country collaboration.
• Foster alignment with LACRO and GC global initiatives, including Chosen and other emerging sponsorship models.
