Program Background

DT Global has been engaged by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) under New Zealand’s International Development Cooperation programme to assist with the recruitment of corporate support for the Bougainville Police Service (BPS). Through MFAT’s support, New Zealand Police has partnered with the Bougainville Police Service for nearly three decades and is now entering a new phase of support focused on strengthening skills and leadership through targeted training, enhancing corporate functions, and improving infrastructure.

The Role

This role offers a unique opportunity to provide support to the Bougainville Police Service (BPS) in strengthening its logistics and procurement systems, policies, and procedures. The Logistics Support Coordinator will provide embedded support to the BPS’s logistics and procurement operations. The role will also work to build systems and standard operating procedures (SOPs) that improve asset tracking, procurement transparency, and logistical planning, helping the BPS meet both operational and compliance expectations.

Key Selection Criteria

• Minimum five years’ experience in managing logistics and procurement in government or donor-funded programs
• Experience developing SOPs and managing fleet, inventory, and supply systems
• Strong understanding of ethical procurement, vendor management, and audit processes
• Ability to work in resource-constrained, culturally diverse environments
• Demonstrated mentoring and systems-strengthening experience
• Familiarity with MS Excel or other inventory/logistics software

Desirable

· Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field

· Experience in police, military, or emergency services logistics

· Understanding of ABG procurement processes and infrastructure constraints

· Experience working in post-conflict/decentralised settings or with law enforcement partners

· Tok Pisin or local language skills
