To provide effective specialized support and technical analyses to nutrition programme activities that effectively meet the nutritional needs of the targeted populations. The position will report to the Head of Sub-Office with technical supervision from the Programme Policy Officer at the Country Office.

• Provide technical support and assist in the development and implementation of various nutrition activities and processes, supporting alignment with wider programme policies and guidelines.
• Provide specialized project management support to nutrition programmes to ensure that the various activities are performed within the established targets following WFP’s policies and procedures.
• Within the specific area of responsibility, prepare a range of reports and data analysis and highlight trends/issues ensuring deliverables adhere to corporate standards and quality control.
• Perform accurate, timely recording of data for nutrition activities and ensure consistency of information presented to stakeholders.
• Take timely actions to address nutrition monitoring findings and resolution of complaints received through WFP’s community feedback mechanism (CFM).
• Act as a point of contact for resolution of a range of operational queries and problems within the technical area of responsibility (nutrition).
• Support awareness raising and delivery of training to MSGs, lead mothers, caregivers, farmer groups,  on a range of topics including; infant feeding, dietary diversity, food safety and hygiene, diversity in nutrition-sensitive crop production, etc.
• Support skills development through capacity building of LCF production facilities on a range of topics including infant feeding, food safety and hygiene, financial literacy, and business management, social marketing etc
• Collaborate with District Health Management Teams (DHMT) through District Nutritionists to provide regular support to and data collection from MSGs and LCF production facilities.
• In collaboration with other WFP technical units, support integration of nutrition activities with home grown school feeding, asset creation, and livelihood activities.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education:

A post-secondary certificate or degree in food sciences, nutrition, health or a related field.

Experience:

Six years of experience in supporting design, implementation and monitoring of technical programmes or projects. Has contributed to the implementation of nutrition specific or nutrition sensitive programmes. Experience in community-based nutrition approaches.

Knowledge & Skills:

General knowledge of the nutrition context in Sierra Leone.

Knowledge of community engagement approaches and techniques.

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Teams & SharePoint.

Behavioral competencies including teamwork, time management, integrity and communication.

Languages:

Fluency in oral and written English.

Position is open to Sierra Leone Nationals only

• Support visits and trainings to MSGs, LCFs and other community stakeholders conducted and documented.
• 100% of monitoring findings and CFM feedback addressed within prescribed timelines.
• Various reports on programme performance prepared.
• Nutrition activities integrated with other WFP programmes.
• Collaborative technical relationships established and maintained with district stakeholders (i.e. DHMT, etc)
