WE ARE

The Human Resources and Security department (DG HR) oversees recruitment policy, training and
career management, social policies and working conditions for Commission staff. It is also
responsible for keeping buildings and employees safe, making sure that work continues during
crises and dealing with online security.

Unit HR.F.6 is in charge of complaints and requests for assistance by staff members under the EU
Staff Regulations. In this context, openness and client orientation as well as the ability to
understand the situation at stake are essential and enriching. The files dealt with can cover the
whole range of EU public service law and, regarding requests for assistance, notably allegations of
harassment.

Unit HR.F.1 is in charge of ensuring the sound management of DG HR’s budgetary and financial
transactions in conformity with the Financial Regulation and the internal rules.

WE PROPOSE

We are proposing an AST-SC position that will contribute to the management of units HR.F.6 and
HR.F.1 by performing essential tasks, including assisting legal officers with case files (such as
updating the electronic filing system and database), maintaining the units databases, working tools,
and statistics, monitoring deadlines, checking draft replies, and notifying decisions. The role also
involves organising missions and managing staff absences (leave, training, etc.), as well as
handling the units mail and monitoring office supplies.

WE LOOK FOR

We are looking for a committed and well-organised AST-SC who can provide effective support to
the Heads of Units and the legal officers. More precisely, we are seeking for a person who:

• Has excellent organisational and planning skills.

• Works with discretion, accuracy, and method, and demonstrates a strong sense of

responsibility.

Is attentive to the quality of service provided to users and internal clients.

• Works proactively and independently while collaborating closely with the team.

Is proficient in the Commission’s standard office tools and willing to familiarise themselves
with the specific applications used by the unit.

• Has an excellent command of French and/or English.
