Within DG JUST, the deputy Director-General for International Dimension of Justice Policies, Rule of Law and Equality supervises two directorates and one horizontal coordination unit:
WE PROPOSE
A position as secretary to the Deputy Director-General for International Dimension of Justice Policies, Rule of Law and Equality. The successful candidate will provide secretarial and logistical support to the Deputy Director-General and her Policy Assistant in the management and administration. In particular, the position involves:
WE LOOK FOR
We are looking for a well organised candidate with a strong sense of responsibility and team spirit, capable of taking initiative and working under pressure. Proven secretarial experience is required and knowledge of standard Commission IT-tools (Ares, Eurolook, MIPS, SYSPER2, BASIS, Outlook, Excel, Word, Decide, MS Teams) would be an asset.
A good sense of humour, people skills, and the ability to meet the diverse needs of hierarchy and staff in a multi-cultural environment, while remaining calm, collected and service-oriented, are essential qualities the ideal candidate would have. The candidate should have an interest in the Directorate-General’s work and display an aptitude for establishing and implementing and improving administrative procedures as well as simple mechanisms for ensuring the quality control of our output as well our compliance with deadlines.
He/she should already have some knowledge of how the Commission relates to the Council and the European Parliament or, if not, an interest to learn more. Our working languages are English and French and proficiency notably in English would be welcome as this is dominant language within the Directorate-General; additional language skills would be an asset.
