JOB DESCRIPTION

WE ARE

The overall objective of unit ECFIN.F.3 is to contribute to enhancing the economic performance of the Union through surveillance of the economies of Spain and Croatia. The unit’s mandate is to analyze, monitor and forecast economic and budgetary developments, and to assess and monitor the implementation of the Resilience and Recovery plans of these two Member States. This includes notably the assessment of reforms and investments included in the national recovery and resilience plans, of public finances and budgetary policy within the framework of the Stability and Growth Pact, the assessment and follow-up of macro-economic developments and imbalances within the framework of the macro-imbalances procedure and of structural reforms within the framework of the EU semester.

WE PROPOSE

A position of secretary cooperating with and assisting the unit. We offer a friendly and dynamic working environment and a strong team spirit among the around 25 members of the unit. The successful candidate will be in charge of a wide range of secretarial and administrative tasks, supporting both the Head of Unit and the individual team members. This includes preparation and organization of missions and meetings; support related to human resource management (e.g. absences, worktime, training, recruitment); following up on briefing requests; handling of ARES and document management support, document editing and operational support to the teams as necessary on files of particular relevance for the unit.

S/he has to be proactive, dynamic, and have a solid service attitude. The candidate should have the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The successful candidate should be thorough, flexible and self­motivated, able to work with a diverse set of people in an international setting. The candidate is expected to have good computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook). Familiarity with Commission IT tools such as ARES, Sysper2, MIPS, DECIDE, Basis, Poetry and document management as well as knowledge of Spanish or Croatian would be an asset. Very good knowledge of English is required.
