Context

The publications are being prepared under the UNDP Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN) Programme, implemented in partnership with government partners. BIOFIN provides a comprehensive methodological framework for analyzing policy, institutional, and financial gaps in biodiversity management and for developing solutions to optimize and mobilize financial resources for nature.

Key Responsibilities

The assignment involves providing professional proofreading and editing services for two bilingual reports in English and Russian. The consultant will review the texts to ensure grammatical accuracy, clarity, consistency, and compliance with UNDP editorial and publication standards, including terminology, formatting, and overall readability.
The reports include:
• Report 1: English version – 105 pages; Russian version – 113 pages
• Report 2: English version – 96 pages; Russian version – 107 pages

Required Skills and Experience

Experience in professional proofreading and editing of technical or analytical publications, preferably within UN agencies, international organizations, or similar institutions.
Excellent command of both English and Russian languages, with ability to edit and refine complex texts in both languages.
Familiarity with UNDP editorial and publication standards, including terminology, structure, and formatting requirements.
Strong attention to detail, stylistic consistency, and adherence to institutional branding and communication guidelines.
Ability to work with large documents (over 100 pages) and ensure coherence and quality across bilingual versions.
