UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is offering a full-time / part-time internship with the Section of the Executive and Management Unit under the Sub-Office Mafraq at UNHCR Jordan.

Organizational context
(brief introduction on UNHCR and on the functional unit/office where the intern will be placed, highlighting the benefits of undertaking an internship):
UNHCR Sub-Office Mafraq located in northern Jordan, oversees the Zaatari Refugee Camp, Raba’a Al Sarhan Transit Centre, and host communities in the Mafraq Governorate.
Sub-Office Mafraq’s role is to coordinate a multisector refugee response in both camp and urban settings. This requires working effectively with colleagues within UNHCR and supporting Multistakeholders to be able to contribute to the humanitarian response in Jordan.
The Inter-Agency Coordination Intern will be supervised by the Head of Sub-Office. The internship offers an opportunity for students and recent graduates to gain practical experience in interagency coordination, protection and communication with communities in a humanitarian context.
The position
(short description of the role and the ideal candidate):
The Inter-Agency Coordination Intern will support the coordination and management of services and activities in the Zaatari Refugee Camp, working closely with the local authorities, partners and refugees.
S/he will assist to facilitate effective coordination with site-level stakeholders to ensure inclusive, timely, and accountable service delivery.
Duties and responsibilities
• Assists the Sector Working Group chairs/co-chairs and bridge between the Camp Management and the Sectors/Sub-sectors as well as the Task Forces.
• Act as the information management focal point for the Sectors/Sub-sectors under responsibility, with duty to collect and compile data on activities, analyse and present information on the sector activities in a concise manner, and support the Sector/Sub-Sectors Coordinators in writing of sector specific reports as narratives and info-graphics.
• Facilitate the flow of information between the Sectors/Sub-sectors, and support coordination tools of CCCM and Sectors/Sub-Sectors, including the calendar of meetings, uploading of documents, updating sector relevant information and member information.
• Assists the sector coordinators in organizing presentations, events, workshops, trainings in line with Inter-Sector and Sector//Sub-sectors work-plans and strategies.
• Contribute to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of various projects.
Minimum qualifications required.
In order to be considered for an internship, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
• Be either a recent graduate (having completed their studies within two years of applying) or a current student in a graduate/undergraduate school programme from a university or higher education facility accredited by IAU/UNESCO ; and
• Have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in a field relevant or of interest to the work of UNHCR .
• Candidates with previous UNHCR Internship experience must not have exceeded the
maximum total cumulative full-time internship duration of eight (8) months.
Desirable qualifications and skills
• Drafting skills and ability to collect, analyze, and communicate information in written/oral formats.
• Planning and organizing skills.
• Interpersonal skills to enable communication and follow-up with various key Interlocutors.
• Knowledge of UNHCR and interagency policies, standards, programmes and humanitarian operations.
• Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
Conditions
It is a full-time role with working hours starting from 8: 30 am to 4:15 pm, Monday to Friday (xx hours per week). The successful candidate will be assigned to support the team in location / remote.
The Intern’s allowance for XXXX internship location is Sub-Office Mafraq (Amount, Currency) per month.
Internships normally last two to six months with the possibility of extension up to eight months for full-time internships and twelve months for part-time internships.

Obligations
Acquiring and renewing current visas, residence permits including all associated costs, obtaining medical certification and compliance with taxation requirements (if applicable), are the responsibility of the intern.
The selected candidate will need to provide UNHCR with a proof of funding from the sponsoring institution (if applicable), health insurance coverage applicable to the assigned internship location and a certificate of good health from a qualified medical practitioner certifying their fitness for work, as well as travel. In the event the candidate is not able to produce the required certificate, they will not be admitted to the Internship Programme.
Allowance and Travel: The Sponsoring Institution shall provide non-reimbursable financial support in the form of a stipend/scholarship/allowance/etc. for the period of internship with UNHCR. Travel expenses to and from the internship location shall be the responsibility of the respective sponsoring institution. UNHCR is not responsible for any renumeration for the intern during the internship period.
